From Rudolf to Franz Ferdinand

Concerts of Czech cellist Eduard Šístek with israeli musicians, violinist Alon Yariv and pianist Ariel Lanyi.

 

Eduard Šístek – cello. Eduard was born in Prague, in 1992 and studied cello at the Prague Conservatoire. He is currently a student at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, in Mikael Ericsson’s class.

He participated in many prestigious national and international competitions, where he received numerous awards, including the International Violoncello Competition in Liezen, Austria, the Prague Junior Note competition, the Yamaha and the Talents for Europe scholarships. He won the prize for the most successful youngest participant in the Prague Spring competition. He is laureate of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation competition and of the Leoš Janáček international competition in Brno as well. Eduard has performed at the F. Chopin festival in Mariánské Lázně, at the Třeboňská Nocturna festival, in a series of concerts at the Czech Radio Studio Live and during the subscription concerts of the Czech Chamber Music Society. He collaborated with the Mladá Boleslav Chamber Orchestra, the Žilina Philharmonic Orchestra, and Czech Virtuosi, among others. Since 2011, Eduard he has been a permanent member of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and has been recording for Czech Radio.
