Masaryk as a Phenomenon

The exhibition is presented by the Czech Center Tel Aviv together with the Embassy of the Czech Republic on the occasion of the ceremonial opening of the Czech House in Jerusalem.

The exhibition Masaryk as Phenomenon presents the personality of the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš G. Masaryk as an internationally respected personality. Information, photographs, and documents show Tomáš G. Masaryk as an active person in the international context, recall as well his role in so-called Hilsner Affair, when he opposed superstitions of ritual murder and anti-Semitism. Documentary films on Masaryk's relationship to the state, citizenship, the church and the family complete the exhibition. Part of the presentation is also the short film loop which symbolically looks back on the whole Czechoslovak history in the 20th century.
