Short Long Journey

A screening of documentary by Martin Hanzlíček Short Long Journey with the attendance of Fedor Gál. The Q&A with this well-known Czechoslovak dissident, sociologist, revolutionary, politician and human rights activist will be followed.

Czech Centre Tel Aviv and The Embassy of Czech republic in Tel Aviv organise a screening of documentary by Martin Hanzlíček Short Long Journey with the attendance of the main character Fedor Gál. The screening will be followed by the Q&A with this well-known Czechoslovak dissident, sociologist, revolutionary, politician and human rights activist.

This projection is a part of Vrba-Wetzler project, that should commemorate their life stories. In 1944, after almost two years in Auschwitz, Rudolf Vrba and his fellow prisoner Alfred Wetzler escaped from the Auschwitz camp. Their escape route led to Slovakia. More than ten days later, Vrba and Wetzler submitted a report about what they had seen in Auschwitz, to be sent to the Allies in order to try to prevent further deportations. A new project will commemorate their journey and efforts.
